We love engagement sessions because we get to know you better as a couple. We like to know what makes you smile and determine the best way to document your personalities.

SCHEDULING: To have a print available in time for the wedding, we need at least a two month lag time to assure the best framed image or image sign-in book. Weather is always a factor, hot or cold. We can work in any temperature, but prefer for you to be as comfortable, as possible. For the best light, we start 2 hours before sunset or at sunrise (the location may determine time of day). Weekdays are best, but we have a few Sunday openings.
TIPS: If you are planning on getting a haircut/ hair coloring, tanning, or anything that alters your appearance, 2 weeks out is a good rule of thumb. Consider tan lines when you are picking your outfit and think about if your sunglasses will leave marks on your nose the day of the portrait.
CLOTHING: Think timeless. Nothing 'dates' an image like clothing. Some clients treat the portrait session like a special date and others go comfy and casual. Most importantly, you want to feel comfortable and confident.
-Prints and patterns distract. Solids make for the best portraits. -Choose colors that look good for both of your skin tones. -Dark tones are the most slenderizing. -If wearing jewelry make sure you will like it 5 years from now!
LOCATIONS: Our sessions generally include a little stroll to get a variety of backgrounds. If you are from out of town, give us a few key words and we can help steer you in the right direction. Please let us know if you have a special Charleston location that you would prefer. Below are some suggestions on locations that make for a beautiful portrait. -Waterfront Park, Downtown alleyways, Customs House, Hampton Park, Beach
