Unique Ideas

Going Green

11/07/2007

Recently a bride's goal involved making her wedding as green (not the color) as possible.  Her approach was extremely thoughtful and her wedding reflected her thoughtfulness from invitations, flowers, potted plants and number of photographs printed.  Her questions and ideas led us to examine our business and determine how we fit into the "green plan".

Working digitally we are creating much less waste than before and the chemicals used when processing film is no longer a concern.  Also, using rechargeable batteries we are creating less waste for landfills.  Our online viewing and purchasing is more eco-friendly than printing all 1000+ images.  Plus you still have the option of viewing them all in order to make your printing decisions.

In our home and office we recycle paper, plastic and ink, take canvas bags to the stores, group our errands int o one trip, and uplug appliances not is use.  We are looking into various light bulbs and outdoor landscaping that are earth friendly.  We have big, green dreams, but for now practicing baby steps!  Any suggestions for going green in our business would be greatly appreciated.  Please email:  info@mcgphotography.com

Cheers, Corrie & James

EXCITING NEWS:  We just returned from WPPI in Vegas (3/1/09) and we found a certified GREEN album company.  We will hopefully have a sample to post and touch by June.
